Welcome to Simplify to Save!
I’m Amanda, your host here. I’m a wife to my wonderful husband Tim and mom to two little ones, Orion (2 years) and Evelyn (1 year). To say I’m busy is an understatement!
I started this blog to discuss two things I’m very interested in-simplifying my life and saving money. More than a hobby or a pastime, these two things have become, for many people, a necessity. But how do we reconcile this with the constant attitude of want, want, want? Especially when you have children, there is always someone who is telling you that you “need” something. Instead of merely riding myself of possessions, I’m trying to save money by never buying them to begin with.
My goal in writing this blog is to both improve in simplifying and saving in my own home, and helping others along the way. I find that I want to simplify, but I have a hard time actually doing it. I wanted to share my journey with others as I work to eliminate the excess clutter from my home and life! Add this all to the fact that we just moved 1000 miles from Michigan to North Carolina, and then five months later turned around and moved back, and my life seems filled with clutter, both physical and emotional. Living simple may be hard sometimes, but I’m positive that it’s worth the effort.
